DAY 1: We will visit the Cuyabeno reserve and ride around the lake to see the sunset.
From Quito to Lago Agrio, then we will go to Cuyabeno’s entrance. The fauna and flora will be the protagonists during the 2-hour canoe trip to Bamboo Lodge. Our expert guide will provide you information about the amazon forest and the Cuyabeno reserve, where you will find monkeys, birds, reptiles, among other animals. Arrival by canoe at 14:00, and canoe trip around the river and the lake where we will look for pink dolphins and wild animals; you can enjoy the sunlight at the famous ‘‘Laguna Grande’’ in the jungle. Or you can join our group during a night walk in order to see insects, frogs and reptiles.
DAY 2: Ecotourism in the rainforest.
We will have breakfast early in the morning before starting our journey, a 3-4 hour hike through the forest with the guidance of a bilingual expert specialized in wild life, who will explain important information about ecosystems in the jungle, fauna and medicinal plants. It is important to mention that most of the wild life is visible if you travel by canoe. You may see monkeys, snakes, wild porks, and deers if you are lucky.
By the afternoon, we will go for a paddle to have the opportunity to see more wildlife in silence. At the sunset, you have the chance to enjoy a beautiful view of Laguna Grande lake, it is described as an unforgettable experience…
Many people who love nature choose a night ride (motorized canoe) when alligators can be seen on the surroundings; There are three different types of alligators in Cuyabeno, the largest is the black one that grows up to 6 meters. You can also see boas and night birds.
DAY 3: Birdwatching
We will start the day with a birdwatching at 5:30 am. Bird lovers must wake up early as a requirement to observe the new species of birds never seen before. The breakfast will be at 7:30 (LODGE). For the departure we will go to the entrance of Cuyabeno at 9.30 am – we will take our last canoe trip on the Cuyabeno River. Finally, a private car will wait for you. Return to Quito.
