Day 1: Arrival in Quito.
You will be met at the Quito airport and transferred to the hotel. Once installed in the hotel, you will have the afternoon free so you can adapt to the altitude of the beautiful city of Quito and settle into your room so you can admire the surroundings of this beautiful city.
Overnight in Quito.
Day 2: MINDO, private excursion to Mindo
Breakfast at the hotel. We will pick you up at the hotel at 9:00 am. After a tour of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes we will visit Mindo, a beautiful natural destination in Ecuador, where the iridescent colors of the hummingbirds’ wings, the designs of the butterflies’ wings, or the green of its cloud forest will leave us fascinated. This place was named by Bird Life International (an international organization dedicated to the protection of birds and their habitats) as the first important destination for bird watching in Latin America.
In this natural destination there are about 500 varieties of birds and approximately 1200 species of butterflies, many of them in danger of extinction. In the Butterfly Farm visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the entire process of butterfly metamorphosis, which consists of 4 phases: egg, caterpillar, chrysalis and butterfly.
Within this place we will also make an excursion to the waterfalls, take a raft ride on the river and culminate the experience with the tasting of chocolate and locally made coffee.
At the end of the tour we will return to the city of Quito.
Day 3: Cotopaxi and Quilotoa, Private excursion to Cotopaxi volcano and Quilotoa lagoon.
Breakfast at the hotel. We will pick you up at the hotel at 9:00 a.m. to visit Cotopaxi National Park. The Cotopaxi volcano is located in the area called “Avenue of the Volcanoes”, this imposing volcano that rises to 5,897 meters above sea level is unique on the planet, thousands of mountaineers of all nationalities have reached its summit and many others dream of doing so.
Cotopaxi is one of the highest active volcanoes in the world, it dominates the entire landscape of the protected area, which also includes two smaller ones, Morurco (4,880 m) next to Cotopaxi and Rumiñahui (4,722 m) also very close.
We will walk along the slopes of the volcano and reach the Limpiopungo Lagoon, we will walk around the lagoon where you can take pictures and immortalize the magnificent image of the volcano reflected in the lagoon, then we will visit the interpretation center.
(Remember to always walk at a slow pace because due to the altitude at which we will be in this place the oxygen level is lower).
Lunch in the surroundings.
Our next destination will be the indigenous community of Zumbahua, where we will make a brief tour of the place and then head to the Quilotoa lagoon, here we will make a short walk to its crater.
Once we finish our tour we will head back to Quito and return to the hotel.
Day 4: Papallacta Hot Springs
Breakfast at the hotel. We will pick you up at the hotel very early in the morning to go to Papallacta, in this place we will enjoy the hot springs that provide health and wellness due to the medicinal properties of the thermal water, here we will live an experience of relaxation and rest in a beautiful natural environment. In the afternoon we will take a walk through the moor, enjoying the scenery that surrounds us.
Return to Quito.
Day 5: Return to the place of origin.
Transfer to the airport. End of services
